Although it may not always be filled with good times, it shows you the reality of life and I was smiling when I heard that there would be a sequel. I would certainly recommend this book to middle schoolers because it gives a general idea of what school is like for them. The author gave the book very realistic features. I enjoyed reading this book because I felt that I could relate to the main characters really well. You can really tell how Emmie feels invisible because of the way the author portrays Emmie only having one best friend. ![]() The illustrations used throughout the graphic novel made it easier for the reader to understand what was going on during the book. ![]() I thought this book was very engaging because of the feeling that everyday middle schoolers experience with crushes. Many young middle schoolers will be able to relate to this book because everyone, at one point or another, goes through really vulnerable times. This book is filled with the embarrassment, humiliation, conflict, and drama of a middle schooler. The two characters learn how similar they actually are and how one mistake can be a good thing, even though you may not think so at the time. They learn about each other when a note ends up in the wrong hands of someone untrustworthy.
